石阡温泉所在的石阡温泉风景名胜区为首个国家级温泉群风景名胜区、国家4A级旅游风景区。

石阡温泉在贵州石阡县城南松明山下，又名城南温泉，是中国最古老的温泉之一。

石阡温泉设施初具规模始于明万历年间，由云南人江大鲲任石阡知府所创建。自那以来，历代官府百姓几经筹款概括或重建，终于形成设施完善、规模宏大的风景名胜。据《贵州通志 [1] 》载：大者如盘屋，小者中有石门，环为太极，可供出入，而景象尤奇。

解放后，新修二座浴楼，耸立江边，泉侧有古代名人题刻多处。四周乔木参天亭阁隐隐,白云缭绕，俯瞰龙底江，碧波山影，垂柳盈堤。

石阡温泉延续至今已有400多年的历史，有着独特传统的洗浴文化，是全国唯有、世界少有既可洗浴，又能直接饮用的天然矿泉温泉。
